This isn't actually post-Revillos - the record label and catalogue give the game away: this IS The Revillos! Apparently the band recorded this in 1981 as The Mysteroids because they thought it might be 'uncool' for The Revillos to release a Christmas single. Admittedly the song isn't what you'd normally expect from The Revillos and they do a straight version rather than a 'Revillo-ised' version but it's certainly nothing to be ashamed of. The a-side appears on the Attack of the Giant Revillos compilation CD while the b-side appears on the From the Freezer CD. Security Of NoiseWilliam Mysterious & Alastair Donaldson

(c) Rev-Pop, 1993. The song titles and the band name might make this look promising to a Revillos fan but it's a bit of a let down to say the least. It seems that Max Atom had a copy of the 24-track master recording of the Bitten By A Love Bug single and created this by replacing Fay Fife's vocals with his and re-recording all the instruments (lots of synth and drum machine) leaving just The Revettes backing vocals. |
